You make me laugh

A very silly cartoon.
It reminds of me early Nameless cartoons. And look how huge they are now!!
That could be you!

As I promised, I made a list of all of the subtle randomness that I love in this movie. There are few real jokes in this, all of the rest of them are just things happening. Things that most people notice, but possibly not everyone.
They are all cronological and whatnot.
-Subtitles don't match fully
-Shrinks as he goes down stairs. A common mistake when animating, but you did it very cleverly, and intentionally
-Red dude randomly gets hair and a hat
-Red dude's arms disappear, then kind of fly away
-Pinapple's flashback noises *whooshwooshwoosh*
-Pinapple suddenly has the "job shirt"
-Red dude's face keeps changing
-Red does a crab walk onto scene, and pinapple snail crawls. I loved that part :D
-When red walks away, you make the corniest no leg walk animation ever, and it was funny
-Firemahn
-Pinapple flashes on and off screen randomly
-Pinapple's leaf things are suddenly way more detailed, just like your old pinapple logo
-The singing dudes silouhette mimicker thing is often doing the wrong thing, or falling behind the real dude. I think that was actually my favorite part.
He should return to the series, but with real lines, not just singing. Always with that shadow guy and such

Anyways. I made that list just because I said I would.
Very awesome cartoon.
It has great humor and timing. As others have said, the pacing was a little shaky. But I'm sure this series will turn into something much more.
Maybe get some voice actors on board too

FrozenSheep responds:

I was fairly influenced by nameless during the whole thing. Though I'd doubt I can reach nameless-esque stardom here or even come close. I'll aim low for now.

;D

Awesome!

Boogley, you put together some amazing collabs!
Your parts were my favorites. Your style is always so unique, and recognizable.
I especially love your opening scene of the assembling of the hamburger.

There were a few parts that were a little poor in quality, but others certainly made up for it. It all came together amazingly.

You menu was also awesome. It was like a waiters little notepad or something. And your collabs are the only ones I know that you can see the collab either all at once, or one persons clips at a time. That is great to see.

The only thing was the game. It's nice to have a preloader game. But the sound effects were bad, and half the time the things I shot at didn't get hit.
It was an okay little time killer during loading, but overall a oor game. Sorry.
But, in the end it's collab that really matters.

So great work!
I would love to see more solo projects by you Boogley. Your FBF skills are awesome. Like your chicken scene.
But I would also love to see you host some more unique and original collabs!

TheBoogley responds:

Thanks Goat-Man, I thought I was the only one who couldn't shoot anything in the game... I just went to your userpage and you've been busy as hell so far this year, DAMN!! WHITE NINJA IS AWESOME!!

Well earned Daily 3rd

I always love your artsy style. It always comes out so clean, and awesome.

I also like that you don't just animate willy-nilly (such as myself)
Your movies like this have deeper meanings.
One suggestion on this though, (taking an example from yourself,) don't tell what things represent.
It's cool to ask fro people's own interpretations. Then you can see what effect your movie had on people.
THEN tell them your own thoughts when making. Just as a little extra, for some interactivity outsude the movie ;)

As I already said, you have a unique style that I love to watch. Where do you get such I wide assortment of textures? I'm pretty sure at one point the walls were graph paper, but I think this is the first time I haven't seen paper towel in one of your movies.

My own views on this movie on an analytical level, are slightly different. But that's the point, different interpretations are good.
I kinda saw it as the little dude walking around, and exploring. But the lesson is something along the lines of:
People test their limits all the time, trying new things. But when we take it too far, our aren't cautious enough, it won't always have positive results.
I saw this when he decided to go into his table, and all of a sudden he was trapped in an endless void.

Once again, great movie, very well done.
Good job testing your own limits, (much like the guy in the movie). Learning new things.

MorrowDays responds:

I LOVE YOU GOATMAN! What you took from it was something I hadn't thought of at all, and it's a beautiful interpretation. BEAUTIFUL.

You make a lot of good points, about not explaining it before hand. I'll try that. What I found with some earlier work (vinto box/carousel) is that when you dont explain it as much, people review saying things like 'i dont get it' and they don't really enjoy the animation as much. But seriously, I will do that with whatever I do next. Promise :)

I'm kind of superstitious about checking for awards on my stuff, so when I wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, and then go see how the submission did, I go into 'My Account' and click submissions, see what the score is, and then read all of the reviews. For whatever reason, I'm really cautious about actually going to the submission page, so when I read you review header, I was like, AWESOME! Because I hadn't even checked myself! :D I don't know why I dont just check it, but for whatever reason, I dont like to. Takes all kinds I guess.

Yeah, no paper towels! I wanted this piece to be on sort of a new level for me, which meant not using things I was really comfy with, etc. So thats why there wasn't any paper towel. I guess I could have used it as the sky in the window, but other than that there also really wouldnt have been much use for it.

You'll be the first to hear if I need help getting out of an endless void.

Thanks goat-man :)

Rudy!!

Sweet!
That's a really awesome idea for a series. I think if done right, it could turn out epic. You could probably do the entire series without any talking too.
Unless you've got some funny oneliners and what not planned out ;)

I look forward to seeing where this goes.
My favorite part was the yelling smilie who couldn't eat his sandwhich.

Do you already have the series started, and this was a demo? Or was this the demo to get your started, then you'll start then series?

Rudy responds:

Well, this isn't a demo or anything. This is actually the introduction for the series. I am going to use voice work though, dialogue is needed for this. I think there will be a few silent episodes though which will be fun. I think I'll release episode 1 on Sunday, it's already in the works so we'll see.

Thanks for the review.

Nice collab

That was actually a really cool collab. One of the better ones out there probably.
It was an awesome concept. Something I've never seen before.
I like that everyone had to use the little shute with the treadmill thing.

The best parts were the two by Grubber. I had never heard of him before this, but he did awesome FBF stuff with his parts.
My least favorite were the people who tried to be "hip"
Like the "i heard you like mudkipz" guy. No offense. His part had good animation. But I'm sure your witty enough to make your own joke, and not just use popular things.

Overall, nice work. Maybe next time on the credits, don't use the same sound for every name. It just sounded sloppy after the first few in a row.

RatherCheesy responds:

I'm glad you liked it, and just so you all know I've started to redo the sounds in the credits, I'm downloading loud crash sounds like crazy and I'm switching them up.

Great start to Pico 08!

This is amazing!
Such a good idea for a collab!
The variety of styles really added so much to it.
Usually when they styles differ so much, the collab just won't run smooth enough, but this way made it 100x better.
Overall an amazing collab, and an excellent start to Pico Day 08 (Han's part was my favorite, loving the new style your using)

I like that it was submitted at exactly 12:00am. Very nice ;)

AlmightyHans responds:

i was wondering if someone would point that 12:00 am thing.

Nicely done.

What did you place in the contest?

And it's a same you didn't have time to add the hat :(
The animation is great, and everything is really smooth, espcially for 20fps.
I just miss that Indiana Jones hat. Good use of wip though :D
The hat alone wasn't enough to bring down your score though!

Miccool responds:

1st! :D

And yeah.. I might have missed the deadline if I added a hat. But I'm glad you could see my problems and not review low just because of a minor detail.

cheers
Miccool

Dude!

Fairly short, but awesome!!
You could be Newground's next great stick animator!!
You have some really cool effects, and smooth animation.

I especially love your backgrounds in your movies. They look awesome, and I don't know how else to describe them.
Great work, can't wait to see more from you!

tman93 responds:

Goat-Man!!

I'm like in 2 of your collabs C:

anyways, thanks for the comment!

Awesome!

I didn't really expect another Analogy
Seems like it was so long since the last one.

This one definately stepped it up from the last ones too.
It was way longer, and had lots more effort and FBF.
I love the music choices as always.
Your one of the few artists I know who can recycle a movie clip throughout a movie and stull make it interesting. Haha.

I think my favorite part was the turtle near the beginning.

FrozenSheep responds:

Oh, Goat-Man.
You sly devil you.

Mean looking camel

I think it's hilarious how fast you made a flash in response to flashes that are in response to a spam day!

I'm coming home sweaty!
I would have loved to see Wade kicking some clock crew ass though. Blowing away some camels, and clocks and such.
Oh well. Made even funnier that I was there on camel day and saw that all go down.

I can't get over how awesome your camels look!!

Rudy responds:

haha! Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Shame, I wasn't around on Camel Day :P I wish I was though, I just saw these submissions and went "whoa."

Awh, man. I'm kinda disappointed on the score this got though.

What's a goat?
