HAPPY BIRTHDAY

One thing I have to wonder is why it advertises XPOGames when it's not a game or anything...?
You'd better be getting paid for that :D
My school would never let my hand in an assignment with swears and stuff. haha

Really well done. Even though I had never read the book, it was still entertaining. And emotional on a very humorous level.

You really like your Halo music don't you? Oh well, it fits nicely.

Pelemus-McSoy responds:

It's me preloader is all...I'm getting paid with a grade in English class...hopefully I pass it... o_O If she gives me a bad mark on this, then I'm done with English class.

Hooray! Entertaining despite not reading it! That's good! And emotional things are good, right?

Halo music = awesome. Hands down.

Back to game designing now!

My advice of submitting only every 3 weeks was used! I feel special!
Although it rpobably would have ended up being like that anyways to give people time to send in their .FLAs. Haha.

My votes would count towards nothing, so I'm not going to bother.
It was cool to see what people come up with in a week.
Some obviously spent a good portion of time, others were more like an hour, but that's okay.

My only two complaints are
1) Do something about that disgusting pixalized Tom Fulp. For some reason it just doens't fit the movie at all. Maybe if there was something a little better to put in the corner there.
Maybe a picture of yourself? Since you have more to do with this.

2) Don't accept submissions that people made prior to this contest. The whole point is for people to have a week to make a creative flash. If they take old work, they could have taken all the time they wanted, and wouldn't even have to try.

Rudy responds:

Yeah, you're right about the whole timeframe bit and the Tom Fulp ehhh. Oh well.

Thanks though.

Okay Collab

In the end the only parts that really stood out as good, were Noxx11 (awesome FBFing), IaMI2002 (just plain goofy style), and the Jesus Egg thing, because that was funny. Sorry I didn't catch who made the Jesus Egg part.

Some of the parts just weren't very eastery, or drug on to long, or the text was hard to read. Those ones kind of brought down the rest of the collab. And it's a real shame when that happens to the rest of the good submissions.

One more positive point of the collab was the menu. Cudos to whoever made that. It look really professional, and had some good backgrounds and such. I liked it.
Although I accidentally closed it before the easter egg at the end, so it's to bad I missed that.

Happy Easter.

Noxx11 responds:

Yay! Goat-Man! The Jesus-Egg was by Marky Lyne and the menu and preloader was by mechanixnut. The easter egg was a simple little egg-collecting easter game by chunkycheese12. Thanks for the review!

Funny at first, but...

That was so pointless.
It wasn't even funny.
I understand your being good humored, and making fun of yourselves, which i appreciate good sense of humor. But honestly there had to be a better way to present it, with more effort.

LordZeebmork responds:

nah

New feelings for CC rising!

Although you are not technically CC, it gives me hope for thier future. If they get something like this for every 15-20 spam movies, it would make up for it.

I love the idea of having an artwork section.
I found myself counting the B's, then when I realized you said what they are, I had to compare. I missed the Big B Is Watching you one only.
And OMG how does that Death Clock know what time it is!!!!

I like the backhand for the keys to the car. Rock, Paper Scissors solves nothing. haha. The gaming one was funny too. It was the last line of it that got me :D

Good work. Glad you added subtitles. It helps a lot.
Nice work.

Pelemus-McSoy responds:

Hooray! I'm giving influence!

The Dethklok Clock is magic and almighty, that's how! :3

Glad you liked it!

I laughed when it said BJ

Immature I know.
But about the rest of the movie.

That was rather entertaining. I think this movie is pretty underratted.
You had some great use of sound fx. I love the sticks reactions to everything.
There was some evidence of FBF skills in there too. For some reason I think that tornadoe looked awesome!

The bonus content was really nice.
You had some good jokes, and some nice alternate endings.

Overall, a good flash. Good work, I can see you took your time.

cavpollo responds:

tanx, and about the tornadoe... it took me some time to figure out how to make it look convincing and at the same time a 5-minute-craft, hahahaha

Great minds thing alike

I was actually just thinking today, "i wish I had a flash for today, because i'll never be able to submit on February 29th again until 2012"
To bad I didn't have me own project finished. But i'm spending a fair amount of time on it, and didn't want to rush.
Sorry about my own life story there ^_^

The movie though, was rather confusing. Yet interesting in it's own way.
I like the use of the pixel tool, just because it doesn't appear to often in flashes.
I notice the paper towel was squeezed in again (nice)
I like how due to your two distinct styles, it was easy to spot where Nick's part would stop and Moro's would begin. And vise-versa.
Impressive given only a day of work.

MorrowDays responds:

Haha, its like, we did our own 2-hour time trial collab ^_^

I was thinking about you when I put the kitchen roll (as nick called it :D) in as the background, I'll use a new texture in upcoming things though because that one has been in several things, including three of my yeah right parts and this, and treekeepers :)

Good luck with all your stuff goat-man, cant wait to see your 2012 feb 29th submission in four years!

Moro

Amazing!

That was so good!
I thought the first one was decent, but this one was truly amazing! You really went all out, and did it to the best of your ability (and it showed)

I love the transforming. It turned out really good. And i noticed you even squeezed it into the credits. (i would to if it took 3 hours) And i love the fact that Optimus even points out that he's the only one that tranformers. gold!

I love how you really took your reviews to heart. The added subtitles helped a lot!
I just can't think of what else to say! One more thing I noticed, is that didnt the first one end with Prime sarcastically saying, that if they were cancelled, what would replace them? dinosaurs?
I love that you bring it up again here.

Overall a great flash. Great work. SRM Transformers 3?

Battosai810 responds:

First off - glad you saw and liked the first one too! And thanks for noticing the transforming itself - that stuff is really hard!

The last one had a reference to them getting replaced by animals... not sure if I'd do a Beast Wars toon, not quite as close to my heart :)
!
And yeah, I listen to suggestions, and I took the good ones into the toon!

glad you liked it so much! and as for SRM Transformers 3 - who knows! I just might make it if this one does well ;)

thanks for the excellent review!

Nice

Don't worry Morrow, I like your "artsy" style stuff.
Excellent choice of music. You didn't credit the author, so I'm not sure who it was. Possibly you. Haha
Did you draw the Tree and the Treekeepers? There were pretty cool.
And I love the plaid gun! High five for plaid gun! Totally turned the thing into a Treekeeper! Haha!
I always love your papertowel backgrounds too! They look so sweet!

So good work again!

MorrowDays responds:

Thanks! Yeah, I made the music in garageband, so there wasnt really any need to you know, have another credit! :P
I did draw all the stuff, I drew in that line style for a little while so I had a variety of drawings I could use to make it all match, so I chose those two, the tree and the treekeeper, and then the thing on the front of the big treecutter was also a scanned in drawing.
Have fun with the papertowel background, I hope it serves you well. :)

Oh my...

That totally weirded me out.
Maybe the music choice was a little to happy. But i guess it was kinda happy in the end.
There were a few that needed a some more in between frames so it wasn't so jumpy.
I would have liked if you rain effect was a little transparent too.
In the end, the flash was very different. I don't quit understand, but those abstract movie can be interesting still.
I like the message of the movie. It was just a little to out there for me.

PS. How did this movie place in the finals? I know you said top 10, but were did it place out of those 10?

MorrowDays responds:

your display pic totally weirds me out, I've been meaning to tell you :)

I hadnt thought of that, a transparent rain effect is a good idea. Keep in mind this WAS done a year ago when I wasnt as comfortable with flash as I am now, but thats sort of a lame excuse so whatever. In terms of the top ten thing, they show ten in a theatre at a big movie theatre for the festival, but they dont actually rank them 1-10 from there. They do have one overall award for each age group, which are grades 3-6, 7-9, and 10-12, but its really frustrating because this one kid wins it every single year because his parents have like, hollywood equipment and his dads in the business, hes won it 4 years in a row, haha.

What's a goat?
